#ITAPT Artist Daniel Mora (@danielmbeauty) has a whopping 174K followers on Instagram. To learn how he grew his following, we asked him to share his tips for asking clients to share his styles on their social platforms. He also explained why slow and steady wins the race when it comes to building a large following.

And while all of his advice is helpful and interesting, one tip in particular was super unique and something we certainly hadn’t heard before.

Q: What tips do you have for beauty pros when it comes to asking or incentivizing their clients to share their experience and their results on social media?

Daniel Mora: It’s all part of the experience so, make it fun for them. Make them feel beautiful so that they feel confident to share the results.

Q: Are there things you’ve tried that didn’t work as well as others?

DM: Don’t push the client too much. Some people aren’t comfortable sharing results so be sure it’s the right person.

Q: Is there anything artists should avoid when trying to incentivize their clients to share their results on social?

DM: Don’t make it sound forced. Allow the client to be as fluid as possible and that makes them feel more comfortable.

Q: What has worked best for you when it comes to getting clients to share your work?

DM: I created fun IG stories filters my clients can use while they sit at my chair. *

Q: How have you benefitted from clients sharing you work?

DM: More bookings and free advertising.

Q: You have 176,000 followers on Instagram what did you do to grow your following to that level?

DM: I’ve always said that I’ve been able to grow my audience slow, steadily and organically. I don’t create content to go viral. I create content that will give me longevity. Anything viral will have its moment and then go away. When you create longevity, it’s much better even if it takes longer. Authenticity will take you a long way.
