One of the hottest beauty looks from the Spring/Summer 2019 runways was the inverted cat eye. It’s a modern twist on the classic, dramatic cat eye that literally turns it upside down. The effect is futuristic or avant-garde, but it definitely enhances the eye in a pretty and interesting way. Here, Japonesque Lead Educator Laura Dupuis breaks down how to get the look in three easy steps.

What You’ll Need:
JAPONESQUE Velvet Touch Eye Pencil Set (contains three intense gel pencils)
JAPONESQUE Cat Eyeliner Brush
    Try: JAPONESQUE Angled Eyeliner Brush
Kumadori Felt Tip Eyeliner
Try: Grande Cosmetics GrandeLINER Black Liquid Eyeliner

Get The Look:

Step 1
Apply Velvet Touch Eye Pencil using the JAPONESQUE Cat Eyeliner Brush (recommended to also use JAPONESQUE Angled Eyeliner Brush) to create subtle definition along the upper lash line.

Step 2
Begin creating the cat eye shape by lining the inner eye using the JAPONESQUE Felt Tip Eyeliner, extending the liner down past the tear duct.
Continue your line along the lower lash line towards the outside of the eye.

Step 3
Once your line is created, intensify the look and clean up any harsh edges by smudging out the line using the same Cat Eyeliner Brush with the Velvet Touch Pencil on the end.
