In America, one in three women and one in four men have experienced some type of physical violence by an intimate partner. This kind of violence accounts for 15% of all violent crime in the U.S.—on average 20 million people per minute are abused by an intimate partner. These shocking statistics highlight the urgency for spreading awareness and taking action to end domestic abuse. To help in that effort, SalonCentric will continue to actively sponsor the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) and the beauty community at-large to stand against this growing epidemic through the CUT IT OUT program.
CUT IT OUT seeks to educate licensed salon and spa professionals across the country on how to identify the warning signs of domestic violence and gives them training to safely refer clients to the proper local resources. CUT IT OUT also provides beauty pros with signage and other materials so clients know they’re in a safe place where they can comfortably reach out and ask for help.
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, SalonCentric has partnered with the PBA and the L’Oréal Professional Products Division to offer free digital trainings which are eligible for one hour of CE credit in cosmetology, nails and esthetics.
