Fatboy. It’s one of those names that just roll off the tongue, easy and playful, cheeky and cool. And that’s exactly what the Fatboy Hair brand is. Concepted by hairdresser and Cutler Salon Brooklyn founder, Tyson Kennedy, the artist-inspired, boundary pushing, beauty and style brand, first started in his Lower East Side kitchen a few short years ago when he set out to create a texture putty in pomade form. The result? The instant hit, cult-favorite Perfect Putty, a smooth, creamy, matte finish formula that isn’t too gritty or too thick or sticky. Check out the video above to hear Kennedy talk about the early days of being a mad scientist in his home kitchen, drunk haircuts, life as a musician and how the fun Fatboy name came about.
