In celebration of Black History Month, members of the beauty community came together for an inspiring "Coffee & Culture Fireside Chat" featuring SalonCentric #ItTakesAPro Team artists and educators Tonisha Scott (@missprettynish) and John Mosley (@popular_nobody). Hosted by SalonCentric on February 5th, 2024, facilitator Katera Jefferson delved into the career journeys and challenges these artists overcame, sharing insights on inclusivity and the ever-evolving landscape of beauty and culture.

During the fireside chat, Tonisha Scott and John Mosely inspired attendees with a discussion about their personal and professional experiences of breaking down barriers within the beauty industry and education. Both artists underscored the need to be better when it comes to inclusivity, not only in mainstream media but also in education curriculum.

Special thanks to SalonCentric's Black-owned and founded brands Ashtae, Design Essentials, Texpert Collective, Kazmaleje, MANTL Skincare, and Marcella Ellis for providing products gratis to guest attendees. And additional thanks to Posy Exchange for facilitating an interactive succulent workshop, MOSS for providing complimentary beverages, and Craving Donuts and Sugar Baby Café for catering.
